A warm welcome!

Firstly, the introductions......

Based in Ayrshire, our names are Alison Fyfe and Donna Burns.

We are friends, practising midwives and Registered HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educators. Together, we have over 25 years experience of assisting women to birth their babies and are passionate that they have the best and safest birth possible.

Birth can be a serene, calm and beautiful experience. Every birth is a unique rite of passage. It can be an exhilarating, empowering experience - that is our wish for your birth. We believe in women and their ability to birth instinctively as nature intended. 

Outwith the rare special circumstances, birth is best left undisturbed unless there is a clinical reason to interfere. Unfortunately, todays society questions our ability to have a natural, undisturbed birth. These seeds of doubt are planted in our subconscious and create fear which in turn leads to the Fear-Tension-Pain cycle of childbirth which actively prohibits our ability to birth easily.

As childbirth experts and birth enthusiasts, we believe HypnoBirthing® can assist you and your baby in your unique, special journey.

We have both undertaken the University of West of Scotland (UWS) 'Normality in Childbirth Course'. We are active members of the Keeping Childbirth Natural & Dynamic (KCND) group. We have recently developed and presented information sessions for midwives on HypnoBirthing® and were delighted to be invited to be faculty members of the UWS, presenting to midwifery students and lecturers alike. We also attended as guest speakers at a recent Royal College of Midwives local meeting.

Alison and Donna were also finalists for the 2010, Ayrshire Achieves Awards.
